Whenever you take any pictures from digital devices, the information about the device from which the pictures are taken, thumbnails and many other information automatically get stored in the images itself in the form of EXIF (Exchangeable Image File) metdata.

This information can be read by image viewers and thus possess a threat if you are uploading these images online and sharing them with others. For example see the image above, I have taken it with my iPad 2, metadata read by faststone image viewer.

You can remove exif metadata using Adobe Bridge or Photoshop, but if you don't have these costly tools you can a use free tool called JPEG & PNG Stripper to easily remove all exif metadata from your photos before uploading them online.

Drag and drop the images from which you want to remove exif metadata in JPEG & PNG Stripper, all metadata will be removed and files will be saved to their original location automatically.

JPEG & PNG stripper only removes metadata and reduces file size, it does not affect the quality of images.

This is something very strange with windows vista and 7, whenever you plugin in any external drives like usb hdd or pendrive a message window pop's up asking you to format your drive.

Whatever type of drive it is , windows want to first format it and then use it .

This kind of problem hardly ever comes in Windows XP, since switching to Windows 7 this problem comes up every now and then.

Here are some possible solutions to this problem :

1. Check that you are connecting your drive directly to USB port and not via any third party USB extender cables.

2. Always use safety remove icon on the taskbar to unplug to disk drives.

3. If your disk drive is using FAT32, switch it to NTFS.

If nothing works, I hope Microsoft will soon come up with a solution to this problem in Windows 7 automatic updates.

How to Verify PayPal Account in India Without Credit Card

After a lot of struggle I got my PayPal account verified in India, the whole process is somewhat time consuming but it’s 100% genuine and working.

Things You Need:

1. Indian Bank Account

2. VBV Debit Card ( Verified by Visa ) with *CVV Number

3. Scanned copy of your documents : Voter ID, Driving License, & PAN Card.

Here’s are the steps you need to perform in order to get your PayPal account verified in India:

Step 1:

Adding Bank Account

Sign Up for PayPal and enter your Bank Account Number and your Bank’s IFSC Code in Profile >> Add/Edit Bank Accounts Section.

If you don’t know your bank’s IFSC code, use this online tool to find the IFSC code of any Indian Bank.

After 2 or 3 days PayPal will deposit two small amounts in your bank account. You need to put that two amounts in the PayPal to verify your account bank account.

Step 2:

Adding Debit Card

Once your bank account is verified, PayPal will ask you for your Credit/Debit Card information. As of now none of the Indian Debit Cards are accepted by PayPal. To overcome this problem you need to use EntroPay.

Entropay offers virtual Credit Cards by accepting Debit Card details from Indian Verified by Visa Debit cards. The site is trusted and every EntroPay Virtual VISA cards are issued by Bank of Valletta or Transact Network Limited.

Signup for an Account at Entropay.com and create a new Virtual Visa card and load funds into it by using your Indian verified by Visa Debit Card. You can load funds ranging from $20 to $2000.

I have a Syndicate Bank ATM cum Global Debit Card, which is given to every savings/current bank account customer. This card works beautifully with Entropay.

I loaded $20 dollars to my Entropay virtual credit card from my Syndicate Bank Global Debit Card, and it deducted Rs. 937/- from my account depending on the forex rate prevailing at that time.

Once your Virtual Credit Card is ready, go to PayPal and add this virtual credit card details into your PayPal account. PayPal will accept the details and will deduct $2.5 from your virtual visa card for verification, amount deducted will be refunded to you after few days.

You can view your virtual credit card statements by going to Entropay.com and selecting view card statements.

Step 3:

Adding Photo ID and Address Proof

After adding Debit card details it seems like PayPal is fully verified but PayPal will bug you again after few days asking for your photo id and address proof. So keep the scanned copies of your photo id and address proof ready and just add them to PayPal once it asks you for that.

Final Words:

This is how i got my PayPal account verified in India, the whole process took about 1 month but now i have fully verified PayPal account.

*Note: Not all Indian Banks gives you Global VBV (verified by visa) Debit Cards with CVV(Card Verification Value) number, if you are in doubt then i will suggest you to open an savings bank account in Syndicate Bank in your area and grab your hands on Syndicate Bank’s Global Debit cum ATM Card which is given at the creation of account.

This post due to the problems I’m facing with Indian Web Host Providers. Indian Web Hosting Services are not up to date and if you don't have a credit card like me to buy some abroad host then stick to Blogger.

Here are the few reasons:

1. Blogger can handle heavy traffics easily because its servers are managed by Google whereas Indian Servers in case of heavy traffics loads page extremely slow that visitor don't want to visit your site again.

2. Database Error and Error 404 are still famous lines among Indian Servers.

3. Your Database is not safe and can be lost any time due to wrong updates by server administrators.

4. Due to server and database errors you wont get Google Love. Your pages will take many days or month to get indexed or they never be indexed whereas in my Blogger Blog the pages get indexed in Google within 5 minutes.

Due to all these reasons i reverted back to Blogger from WordPress because I’m an Indian and I don’t have a credit card to buy some good U.S based Web Host. :D Funny Huh!!!

First of all open up this PSD template in photoshop . I have created guides in this PSD which will help you to place 36 passport size photos ( 1 x 1.5 inch ) at 300dpi.

Next open the image from which you want to create passport size photos and crop the face from the image at following dimensions Width: 1inch , Height: 1.5inch and Resolution: 300dpi.

Now copy this image and paste it over to the PSD template. Copy and paste multiple times to properly align the images in guides.

This is the common hacking technique in which the malicious user can change your broadband DSL routers username and password.

This occurs when someone get your current IP address (static or dynamic) and then enter it in a web browsers url location to log in to dsl router configuration page with default credentials.

You must be wondering how anyone can get your dynamic IP address however websites can log your IP address if they have statcounter.com script in it. Have a look to the screenshot below:

Its showing that the user having IP address of 122.177.242.200 visited your website using Bharti Broadband service.

Now if you enter this IP address in your browser window you will land to your DSL router configuration page. It asks for username and password to log in. Now most of the users won't change their default password of DSL router.

Every broadband company sets their default username and password differently. However it is not difficult to find out what's the default. For example in our case we are analyzing the Bharti Broadband and you can quickly search in google for Airtel broadband default username and password.

Now we know that default username is : admin and password is : password we can enter it into the DSL router configuration page and log in to the DSL router and there we can change passwords and change all other settings.

To safeguard your DSL router against hacking always change your DSL router default password. To change this just enter 192.168.1.1 in your browser and login with your default credentials and change it.

Apple QuickTime player is terribly slow on windows platform specially for the playback of .mov files and I think most of the people who have played back .mov files in windows QuickTime player must have experienced this.

Yes there is space limit of 1GB but once you get to that limit you always have the option of creating another picasa account, simple ;)

Its very easy to use and customize. Even people with little knowledge of html can tweak blogger template to certain extent. You don't have to go through php or mysql lessons for customizing it. And even better if you are expert in markup languages you can just convert any web template to blogger template very easily. There is lots of help resources on blogger help.

3. Protects you from SEOphobia
Some tech expert out there says that wordpress is better search engine optimized than blogger, i don't believe that. They say so on the basis that wordpress allows the use of meta tags in each post. But remember google crawlers looks into your whole content not just meta tags, recently i heard that google crawlers totally ignores meta tags like keywords and description because of lots of black hat SEO practices going around the web.

As long as your content is unique,original and contains proper keywords you will get better SEO than others. And don't get stuck into wordpress SEOphobia. Steps Involved:

1. Open your main subject image in photoshop and extract out the background from it using quick selection tool in photoshop cs3 and fill in the background with white color.

2. Now add a new threshold adjustment layer to the above image with following values shown in the image below.

3. Now add sun rays layer above it and set its layer mode to linear burn, you will get a nice blended effect of sun rays over the image.

4. Now to add little bit of grunge effect, add the grunge image and set its layer opacity to about 44 percent.

5. Now arrange all other characters using the similar linear burn blending mode and adjust their position according to your preferences. Also set layer opacity of each characters around 40 to 50 percent only.

6. Last step is to add the matrix style text, use any image in which matrix text is written, add a layer mask to it and using a soft brush with black as foreground color hide out all the areas except matrix text.

You must have seen read more links in blogger blogs, but there is a serious problem related with them.

Suppose you enabled read more links in your blogger blogs using this hack (blogger help), now the problem is that it uses the CSS property

display:none

What happens is that even if your content is not displayed but its downloaded in the browser cache.

And if you got 5 to 10 post on your home page with read more links it will eat up all the bandwidth of the visitor and also your home page will take minutes to load since all the hidden stuffs (image, youtube videos etc) are going to loaded by default in the browser cache.

At present there is no solution to address this problem, all that you can do is to display only post titles on your home page instead of read more links.

That's why I'm displaying only post titles in my home page instead of read more links.

A word of caution to those people who have Google pages account and feeling lucky that they have got 100mb web space with unlimited bandwidth.

This is not true anymore. After the Google had stopped new signups for Google page creator most of the files mainly .js and .css files started showing up 404 errors.

Please take a backup of it and save it in some another location.

I myself hosted few scripts and images related to my blog to the page creator but my web page load time get really slow these days and some times the pages don't even load.

Now I have moved all images from page creator to the Google Picasa account and embedded the styles sheets (.css files) in the head section of my web page. Now the pages of my blog are loading much faster than before.

The font is not rendered correctly and there is no option to make font bold in Dreamweaver code view. Yes you can increase font size and change the font but it does not improve the code readability.

So here's how to improve the readability of code view in dreamweaver

First of all make a copy of the courier new font from the windows fonts folder.
Open that font in any font editing program like High-Logic - Font Editor and make the font bold and change all name fields of the font to some other name, in my case I named it cd.
Place this newly created font in your windows fonts folder.
Now just change the font to cd from dreamweaver menu >> edit >> preferences >> fonts >> code view >> to cd font.

You can also use this font in notepad++ and the readability of this font is just awesome.

Flickrshop from pixelnovel is the Adobe Photoshop plugin for uploading photos to Flickr directly from Photoshop

You can choose the image format, title, description and tags while uploading photos.

All other additional flickr options such as set, visibility, safety level and content type can also be set directly from Photoshop using flickshop plugin.

However there is a restriction in free version, you can only upload three photos a day which is quite is enough for my needs.

In full version you can upload unlimited photos which cost just around $19.95.

Flickrshop is available for both windows and mac.

There are many websites for sending free sms but most of them will also send a short advertisements along with it which is quite irritating. Some of them includes 160by2.com, indyarocks.com, mycantos and many others.

Luckily i found a website called freesms8 from where you can send free sms without any ads. You can see the screenshot above. The maximum text limit is 160 characters which more than any other free sms sending websites.

You just require a simple registration and it sends a password to your cell number and that's it.

Create dynamic rss feed using Google Ajax feed API which you can easily embed in your blogs and websites.

Using this Ajax API you just have to type in the keywords and feeds will be created automatically.For example in my case i just typed in techcruser and it detected my blog feeds and created the ajax base rss news ticker which i can easily embed in my web pages.

You can choose from horizontal, vertical and vertical stacked. Above is the vertical stacked ajax rss widget created using Google ajax api.

Just go to this page, type in your keywords(type as many you want spearated by comma) and your ajax api code is ready for you, the best part is that there is no Google branding in it as you can see in the widget above. ;)

With little use of CSS you can also customize its look and style, using firebug.

The minus point is that it makes the pages a bit slow in loading ..
